An Arizona Vacation Part 1

December 9, 2015

Ditat Deus is the state motto of Arizona; it means God enriches, and once you have been there, you will believe that! Arizona is one of my most favorite places in the world to visit. No matter where you look there are amazing things to see and do! For part 1 of our visit to Arizona, I will be taking you to the greater Phoenix and Scottsdale areas. Ready? Let’s go!

We use like to use Phoenix and Scottsdale as our home base when we travel to Arizona. It’s an easy 3 ½ hour drive from the Grand Canyon and it is filled with gorgeous sights! There are literally 100s of hotels and resorts in every price range you can imagine. If you are looking for some real luxury, check out The Phoenician in Scottsdale. It is luxury personified! Love to Golf? The Phoenician boasts a championship 27-hole golf course and a 5 star luxury spa. Lounge at the pool in your own cabana with the majestic Camelback Mountain as your scenery. If you don’t want to venture out for a local fare, you will find over 10 unique dining experiences within the Phoenician property.

As amazing as the resorts are, you will want to venture out and see the sights! One of my favorite spots is Old Towne Scottsdale. It’s the perfect mix of the old west and the new west with great little shops full of unique gifts and hand crafted art. Old Towne has it all. You can easily walk around or take the free trolley! Make sure to check out the amazing sculptures and fountains!

Make sure to visit The Sugar Bowl an Ice Cream Parlor and Restaurant. The Sugar Bowl is a must do for us every trip; they have been dishing out ice cream since 1958!

After you’ve had your fill of ice cream head out to the foothills of the McDowell Mountains and check out Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West.

Taliesin West is one of Wright’s most personal creations. He designed and used it as his winter home. It’s a magnificent piece of architecture and history!

That’s all for today! Come back next week when we head to Phoenix for some Native American adventures!

Happy Travels!
