The Beachcomber Shack was a concrete floor with sand surrounding the space which was great for the youngest in our party to build sandcastles and play in a secluded area.
Have you ever wondered how you can beat the heat (and the long lines for food!) while enjoying your day at a Disney Water Park? Consider a premium space like a Beachcomber Shack at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon!
My family, along with a group of dear friends, had the opportunity to experience a Beachcomber Shack the first weekend in May, and it was a top-notch experience from beginning to end. Upon arrival at the water park, we checked in at Singapore Sal’s Gift Shop at the front of the park where each member of our party was given a numbered wristband. The number corresponded with our Beachcomber Shack number (and was a great way to remind the four kids in our group where to come back during the day). After being escorted to our shack, we met our amazing host for the day who told us about the cooler of drinks in the corner, featuring unlimited bottled soft drinks and water, showed us how to use the locker, and provided us his cell phone number to text or call throughout the day as we were ready to order any drinks, food, or need any refreshed towels.
One of the best parts of the premium space, hands down, was the fact that we had food delivered to our shack to eat without having to wait in lines to purchase it. While the rental does not include anything beyond the soda and bottled water, the convenience factor is simply huge. Another great perk is the dedicated menu only available to those renting a premium space, including absolutely delicious snack trays, other starters, and platters to feed more than one person.
The charcuterie board, which was plenty for all to have a taste before we ordered lunch.
Our Cabana Host stopped by more times than we could count to check-in with us, ask if he could bring anything, and refill our cooler (often without us even asking). The space was comfortable enough for our group of 10, which was the maximum allowed, though sitting space did become a bit tight when we were all eating together as there are only six total chairs in the standard Beachcomber Shack.
There was a full bar located nearby, and the attendant was able to bring alcoholic beverages to the Beachcomber Shack for the adults to enjoy.
The youngest member of our party, age 2, spent the vast majority of her day in and around the Beachcomber Shack, and her Dad was happy to have a private place to sit, along with an attendant to bring drink refills to him so he did not need to take his daughter away from the fun. The older kids (8, 10, 12) were able to enjoy the attractions and come back when they were hungry or wanted to take a break from the sun.

Having this space to sit around, talk, and dine was well worth every penny we paid for it, and I would absolutely rent it again the next time our friends come in from out of town. One important note that I would like to share is to please bring cash with you to tip your Beachcomber Shack attendant. While the bartender’s tip was able to be added to the check at the end of the day, the attendant was not able to be included on the credit card slip, nor was he allowed to provide us with a way to send him money digitally. Fortunately, my husband was able to go out to the car to grab cash out of his wallet and bring it back in to him, but I’m afraid that would not be the case for every family.
If you’ve ever been to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach and fought the crowds in the morning to try to find shade, or arrived later in the day to find there were not any groups of beach chairs near one another, I’m here to tell you to consider adding a premium space to your next Disney Water Park Day. We sure did not regret a single moment!
