A new chapter in Walt Disney World resort stays is coming in 2027!
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge officially opens July 1, 2027, bringing an entirely new nature-inspired retreat to the shores of Bay Lake. Designed to celebrate the beauty of the outdoors through Disney storytelling, the resort will feature natural materials, earthy colors, and artwork inspired by beloved Disney films including Bambi, Pocahontas, Encanto, and Brother Bear.
With 967 rooms and a variety of accommodations, Lakeshore Lodge will offer options for couples, families, and larger multigenerational groups—from cozy studios to spacious villas and some very unique waterfront accommodations.
The Lake Houses
One of the most distinctive ways to stay at Lakeshore Lodge will be the new Lake Houses.
These sit directly on Bay Lake, and these freestanding one- and two-bedroom retreats will feature dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows, private porches overlooking the water, full kitchens, and washers and dryers. The one-bedroom Lake Houses will sleep up to five guests while the two-bedroom version will accommodate up to eight.
Inside, the design will draw inspiration from Brother Bear including artwork celebrating the film's Alaskan setting and even a Northern Lights-inspired lighting feature in the primary bedroom. I love this because this movie is often overlooked!
For families looking for extra space while still enjoying all the benefits of staying at Walt Disney World, these could be a very interesting new option.
Plenty of Room for Families
The Lake Houses aren't the only accommodations designed with families in mind.
Lakeshore Lodge will offer everything from two-person Duo Studios and traditional Resort Studios to one-, two- and three-bedroom villas. The largest Grand Villas will accommodate up to 12 guests and include multiple bathrooms, a full kitchen, and plenty of space for everyone to gather.
These various room types will make Lakeshore Lodge especially appealing for extended families and multigenerational Walt Disney World vacations.
The Wetlands
The resort's connection to nature will continue outdoors at The Wetlands, an expansive recreation area designed for both play and relaxation.
At the center will be Lakeshore Lagoon, a zero-entry feature pool with a spiral waterslide. Guests will also find a lazy river, children's wet and dry play areas, plus a separate leisure pool and whirlpool spa.
Whether your family wants an afternoon at the pool or simply some downtime away from the parks, Lakeshore Lodge will be a resort where spending time at the hotel can be part of the vacation—not just where you sleep at night.
New Dining Along Bay Lake
Lakeshore Lodge will also introduce several new places to eat and relax.
Moonglade will be a table-service restaurant along the lakefront with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Bay Lake and a menu featuring seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. This promises to have stunning views!
For something quicker, Bay Lake Provisions will serve as an all-day quick-service marketplace while Paint Out Point Bar & Grill will offer poolside bites and drinks.
There will even be places designed specifically for enjoying those beautiful Bay Lake evenings—including Dandelion Terrace where guests will be able to watch Magic Kingdom fireworks across the water. This should be a very popular location!
Club Level - The Artist's Nest
Guests looking for an elevated stay will have another new option.
Select Club Level rooms will include access to The Artist's Nest, a concierge lounge perched above the treetops. Club Level guests will receive personalized concierge service and complimentary refreshments throughout the day along with some pretty spectacular views—including exclusive views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks. Sweet!
And You're Still Close to the Magic
While Lakeshore Lodge is designed to feel like a peaceful retreat, you'll still be firmly inside the Walt Disney World magic.
The resort sits along Bay Lake and will offer complimentary Disney transportation—including boat transportation to Magic Kingdom.
That combination of a quieter, nature-inspired setting with convenient access to the parks may be one of the resort's biggest draws.
When Can You Book Disney's Lakeshore Lodge?
Reservations open in October 2026:
October 6: Disney Vacation Club Members
October 7: Walt Disney World Annual Passholders
October 8: All guests
